Thunder Valley Motocross Celebrates Five Years with World's Only Professional Motocross Night Race

‚

MORGANTOWN, W.V. (June 18, 2009) - After making history with the first-ever night race in professional motocross, Thunder Valley Motocross will celebrate its fifth anniversary as a host site on the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship schedule by building on last season's success. At an elevation of 6,100 feet, it is truly one of the most unique races in the world, and a true challenge for the world's best riders.

Without the help of lighting giant Musco, the Toyota AMA Pro Motocross National would not be possible. Last season, a remarkable seven lighting trucks were strategically placed throughout the sprawling mountainside facility to provide the necessary luminosity the 1 ‚½ mile layout required. For 2009, track promoter David Clabaugh has enlisted the use of an additional pair of Musco trucks to ensure that every inch of the layout is properly lit, making for ideal racing conditions.

"Competition is of the utmost importance," explained Clabaugh. "I want to be sure that there are no gaps or dimly lit areas on any portion of this track. We are now using a total of nine Musco lighting truck and I feel very confident that come Saturday, June 27, this place will be bright and the racing will be outstanding."

Always known to be a great venue for the fans, Thunder Valley has improved the viewing areas for those who attend the race on June 27th, providing more comfortable accommodations on the hillside and bringing back the popular Jumbotrons that helps fans see every bit of the on-track action. An extended VIP section will provide premier viewing and amenities, making it the place to be for when the gates drop.

On Friday, June 26, Sun Enterprises, Denver's premier motorcycle dealership, will host the Monster Energy Fan Fest. The massive warehouse will welcome several of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship's top teams including Honda Red Bull Racing, Monster Energy Kawasaki, Jagermeister KTM, GEICO Powersports Honda and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki whose riders will be signing autographs. Fan Fest will also feature a day-long block party on Pearl St., providing an exciting preview of Saturday night's national. Sun Enterprises is located at 877 N. Washington, Denver, CO, 80229.

Fans can check out the Dunlop support rig at each of the 12 rounds of the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship and get all the details on the premium GEOMAX and D-Series family of tires made just for the sport of motocross.
