Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship
Statistical Report

Peterson CAT Washougal National
Washougal MX Park – Washougal, Washington
Saturday, July 25

  • Washougal has hosted Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship events since 1980 and is currently in its third decade of hosting the Nationals lone visit to the Pacific Northwest.
  • Washougal is known for being one of the most beautiful, yet challenging tracks in the world and features several iconic obstacles, including Horsepower Hill and its infamous whoops.
  • In 34 years of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship competition at Washougal, only three international riders have captured an overall win - Chad Reed in the 450 Class in 2009, Ben Townley in the 250 Class in 2007, and Marvin Musquin in the 250 Class last year in 2014.
  • Poulsbo, Washington’s Ryan Villopoto was the first rider from the Pacific Northwest to win at Washougal in the premier 450 Class. A pair of natives did claim victory in the 13 years of 500cc competition – Eric Eaton, of Tacoma, Washington in 1985 and Chuck Sun, of Sherwood, Oregon, at the inaugural event in 1980. Oregon natives Chris Alldredge, Justin Hill and Matt Bisceglia will each look to become the first native to win in the 250 Class.
  • Ryan Dungey is tied with Ricky Carmichael as the winningest rider at the facility with six wins between the 450 and 250 Classes. He could break that tie this weekend with an overall victory. A seventh victory would also make Washougal Dungey’s winningest track.
  • Blake Baggett, Justin Barcia, Trey Canard, who makes his 2015 debut on Saturday, and Andrew Short will each look to add their name to the list of winners in both classes at Washougal.
  • It took five races since Eli Tomac went out with injury for a rider to surpass his totals for overall wins, moto wins, and laps led. Dungey now has three overall wins, seven moto wins and 92 laps led. (Tomac – two overall wins, five moto wins, and 76 laps led)
  • Cooper Webb’s win last weekend made him the first rider other than Jeremy Martin or Marvin Musquin to win an overall this season in the 250 Class. He also became the fourth different moto winner in the division.

450 Class Stats

  • The first 450 Class race held at Washougal was August 14, 1983. Rick Johnson won on a Yamaha.
  • This will be the 25th time the gate will drop at Washougal for the 450 Class.
  • Ricky Carmichael, James Stewart, Jeff Emig, Ryan Dungey, Jeff Ward and Mike Kiedrowski have won at Washougal in two or more classes.
  • Ryan Dungey is the only rider to have three consecutive wins in the 450 Class. He could go back-to-back this weekend after winning the overall in 2014, which would give him five wins in seven starts.
  • Dungey has missed the overall win only once since 2008, dating back to his time in the 250 Class.
  • Yamaha has not won at Washougal in the new millennium (last win in 1999). It last won when Jimmy Button claimed his first 450 Class win at Washougal.
  • Justin Barcia, Blake Baggett and Andrew Short could add their names to the list of winners in both the 250 and 450 Class if one of them takes the overall this weekend. Each has a win in the 250 Class.
