The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship kicked off its 2017 season on Saturday with the 49th running of the Red Bull Hangtown Motocross Classic in Rancho Cordova, California, mere minutes from the state capital of Sacramento. A hot afternoon and an increasingly rough track provided an incredible first test for the world's best riders, from which both Monster Energy Kawasaki's Eli Tomac and Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Zach Osborne tamed the conditions and their competitors to take the opening round victory. Both Tomac and Osborne posted 1-1 moto sweeps in the 450 Class and 250 Class, respctively.
