Media Credential

Media credentials are available to national television and radio networks, local television and radio stations, recognized daily newspapers, news services, and racing publications, as well as other publications and internet sites that regularly cover motorsports.

There are two types of media credentials: Season and Single Event

  • Seasoncredentials are reserved for approved media persons who will attend at least half of the events throughout the season
  • Single Eventcredentials are reserved for approved media persons who will attend less than half of the events throughout the season

There are three levels of media access: Press, Photo and Video

  • Press Passis issued to journalists and editorial staff and does not provide racetrack access
  • Photo Passis strictly issued to Photographers and permits access to the paddock and the racetrack. Photographers are required to wear an MXS-issued photo vest
  • Video Passis strictly issued to Videographers and permits access to the paddock and the racetrack. Videographers are required to wear an MXS-issued video vest

All applications will be carefully screened.

POLICY

Eligibility: Requests must be submitted by an editor on behalf of the assigned reporter. Credentials will be issued to authorized personnel only for the purpose of providing timely coverage of the event.

Freelance journalists and photographers must be on assignment and be named on the application form submitted by the news agency's editor.

Marketing and advertising representatives from approved publications, teams and sponsors will be credentialed only if on editorial assignment.

Age Requirements: The minimum age for a Media Credential is 18.

Series Access: A season credential is valid at any AMA Pro Motocross event.

Proper Use: Credentials are specialty hard cards issued by MX Sports Pro Racing. Credentials must be worn at all times during events and only by the individual to whom it was issued. Presentation of a credential signifies to security that the bearer has signed the required releases and meets the qualifications for access into restricted areas. Unauthorized or improper use of a pass is prohibited.

Replacement: If your credential is lost, stolen or damaged, contact MXS immediately. Depending on the circumstances, a fee may be assessed for replacement.

PROCEDURE

Applicant Information: Complete the required fields in the online application and submit for approval. Make sure all information is accurate. Our primary means of communication with you will be by email.

Photo: Upload a forward-facing head shot taken in front of a solid light color background. No sunglasses or other distracting images. Your face must be clearly visible.

Assignment Letter:  Upload the Assignment Letter from an accredited publication or media outlet.

Submittal:  Applications must be submitted at least 14 days prior to the first event needed. Approval of applications is in the sole discretion of MXS.

Approval:  Media credentials are approved on a case-by-case basis in the sole discretion of MXS. MXS may approve or deny media access at any time, for any or no reason, including inappropriate behavior or violation of event rules.  Upon approval, a confirmation email will be sent along with details on how to obtain the credential.

Credential Pick-Up:  Upon approval, credentials will be available for pick-up at Industry Services/Will Call at all AMA Pro Motocross events. Credentials will not be mailed. Proper ID must be provided in order to obtain credential.

Releases: A 2020 MXS All-Event Release Waiver and Indemnity Agreement must be signed in order to obtain credential. Forms will be available at Industry Services.
