• The mile-high altitude at Thunder Valley is one of the most unique elements of this National. It will provide an additional challenge for mechanics in making a bike perform at its peak, while riders must physically adjust to the thinner air.
• Thunder Valley was the site of the first professional motocross event to ever be held under the lights, during the 2008 season. The track also hosted a night race during the 2009 season. In 2010 it was the host venue for the Motocross of Nations, signifying the last time the event took place on U.S. soil.
• Thunder Valley marked Ryan Dungey’s first Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship victory aboard a KTM in 2012, also marking KTM’s inaugural win in the 450 Class. Dungey is also the winningest rider at Thunder Valley, with three straight wins from 2010-2012.
• Ryan Dungey now sits second on the all-time list for both 450 Class wins and 450 Class podiums, each behind Ricky Carmichael.
• After four motos this season, Eli Tomac carries the distinction of being the only 450 Class rider to finish inside the top five in each moto. Marvin Musquin is the only one to achieve this feat in the 250 Class.
• Both the 450 Class and 250 Class championship standings feature a 19-point gap between first and second.
• Fredrik Noren will make his 2015 debut with Team Honda HRC this weekend, filling in for an injured Trey Canard.
• Currently sitting second and third in the 250 Class standings, Jeremy and Alex Martin have the opportunity to become the most successful siblings in Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship history, currently occupying the highest spots in the standings for brothers ever. They will look to join Gary and Dewayne Jones as the only siblings to ever finish on a Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship podium together.
• KTM made history last week by completing its first ever podium sweep in the 250 Class.

450 Class Stats

• The first Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship 450 Class race held at Thunder Valley was on July 24, 2005, with Ricky Carmichael winning on a Suzuki.
• Six different riders have won in 10 races at Thunder Valley. Three of the four – Ricky Carmichael, James Stewart and Ryan Dungey – won consecutively. Ken Roczen has the opportunity to add his name to the list following his win in 2014.
• Prior to Husqvarna’s return to factory racing this season, each participating manufacturer but Yamaha has won at Thunder Valley.
• Colorado native Eli Tomac enters the third round at Thunder Valley undefeated and with the chance to win his hometown race for the second time, the first coming in the 250 Class in 2013.
• Ryan Dungey is the only rider to win aboard two different brands of motorcycles at Thunder Valley. Ken Roczen has the opportunity to join him on Saturday.
• Ivan Tedesco and Ryan Villopoto are the only riders to win in both classes at Thunder Valley. Blake Baggett, Eli Tomac, Justin Barcia, and Christophe Pourcel are all also able to accomplish this feat as the only riders with wins in the 250 Class that will be lining up in the 450 Class this Saturday.
• Both of Ivan Tedesco’s first career wins in the 450 Class and 250 Class came at Thunder Valley. It will also serve as the site of the now-retired former champion’s final victory.

250 Class Stats

• The first Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship 250 Class race held at Thunder Valley was on July 24, 2005, with Ivan Tedesco winning on a Kawasaki.
• The 250 Class will have a new winner with all previous winners currently not competing in the class. Blake Baggett, who is now in the 450 Class, was the 2014 winner.
• Kawasaki has won eight of the 10 races at Thunder Valley, including the first seven. Honda is the only other manufacturer to win, doing so back-to-back in 2012-2013.
• Eight different riders have won in 10 races at Thunder Valley. Only Ryan Villopoto and Blake Baggett have multiple wins. With no former winner in the 250 Class field this season, a ninth different winner will be crowned on Saturday.
