Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship
Series Statistical Report

UPMC Sports Medicine High Point National
High Point Raceway – Mount Morris, Pennsylvania
Saturday, June 13

  • High Point will host its 39th Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship race on Saturday.
  • The UPMC Sports Medicine High Point National is the only round in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • The High Point National is located only 15 miles from MX Sports Pro Racing headquarters in Morgantown, West Virginia, making it the home race of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.
  • High Point Raceway also hosts a round of the Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship. It is one of six tracks with that distinction.
  • High Point and Hangtown share the distinction of having the most international winners, with seven different riders combined across the 450 and 250 Classes.
  • As the two most recent High Point winners currently competing in the 450 and 250 Classes, Ryan Dungey and Marvin Musquin will look to accomplish the first brand sweep at High Point since 2011 when Kawasaki did it with Ryan Villopoto (450 Class) and Blake Baggett (250 Class).
  • This is the first time that Minnesota natives sit atop both the 450 Class and 250 Class standings. Additionally, both Dungey (450 Class) and Jeremy Martin (250 Class) each have 175 points through four rounds.
  • Dungey and Martin are both in search of their third straight victory.
  • Through four rounds, only Dungey and Baggett have top 10 finishes in each moto this season in the 450 Class. In the 250 Class, only Martin holds that same distinction.
  • Even though he is still in search of his first overall win of 2015, defending 450 Class Champion Ken Roczen has led five more laps than Dungey, winner of the last two rounds.
  • After the first eight motos this season, 250 Class leaders Martin and Musquin are both tied with four moto wins apiece entering the fifth round.
  • Martin and Musquin have combined to lead 85 percent of the laps run in the 250 Class this season.
  • Series rookie Aaron Plessinger led for the first time as a pro at the previous round. His seven laps out front are the third-most laps led by a rider this season, behind Musquin and Martin.
  • A total of seven different riders have led at least one lap of 250 Class competition in 2015.
  • Hometown hero Darryn Durham will not compete in his home state of Pennsylvania for this year’s High Point National due to a lingering wrist injury.
  • Five of the six participating manufacturers are currently represented in the top 10 of both the 450 and 250 Class standings. 450 Class – KTM, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha and Husqvarna; 250 Class – Yamaha, KTM, Kawasaki, Husqvarna and Honda.

450 Class Stats

  • The first 450 Class race was held at High Point on May 29, 1977. Tony Distefano, who was from Morrisville, Pennsylvania, won on a Suzuki.
  • This will be the 39th time the gate will drop for the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at High Point.
  • Each of Ryan Dungey’s two 450 Class wins at High Point came during seasons in which he won the championship in 2010 and 2012.
  • James Stewart’s win in 2014 tied Suzuki with Honda as winningest brands at High Point.
  • Chad Reed is the only rider in history to get his first career wins in both the 450 Class and 250 Class at High Point.
  • High Point has not had a back-to-back 450 Class winner in eight seasons and with the absence of Stewart in 2015, that will extend to nine season. Each of those wins for the past eight years have been split amongst five riders – Stewart, Dungey, Ryan Villopoto, Chad Reed and Ricky Carmichael.
  • Carmichael is the winningest rider at High Point, with six-consecutive victories from 2002-2007.
  • Honda and Yamaha have been in a 450 Class win drought at High Point for over 10 years.
  • Baggett, Christophe Pourcel, and Josh Grant have the chance to add their name to the list of riders with wins in both the 250 Class and 450 Class at High Point.
