• Glen Helen hosts its 17^th Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship race on Saturday. It has been held on Memorial Day Weekend each of its last three seasons – 2008, 2009 and 2014.
• Glen Helen hosted the final round of the championship during its inaugural season in 1993 and then moved to become a Mother’s Day staple from 1996-2003, hosting the opening round in six of those years. It returned to the final stop of the championship from 2004-2007, but then became the opening round once again in 2008, 2009, and 2014.
• This is the lone stop of the championship to take place in Southern California, the heart of the motocross racing industry.
• Riders from nine different countries will attempt to qualify for the 250 and 450 Classes on Saturday afternoon.
• A total of 133 riders across the 250 and 450 Classes are entered for the 2015 FMF Glen Helen National.
• Glen Helen features arguably the most dramatic and challenging elevation changes of any track in the world. Mount St. Helen, the track’s marquee obstacle, towers hundreds of feet above the track and riders will race up and down the hill, dropping some 200 feet.
• Glen Helen is the most familiar track to the bulk of the riders in the championship. It is often the epicenter of motocross testing for nearly every team in the sport.
• Glen Helen’s start straight is the longest in the championship, producing the highest speeds heading into the infamous “Talladega” first turn, the steepest and fastest turn in Pro Motocross.
• Glen Helen has lent itself to parity thanks to its unique and challenging layout. In 16 years of hosting Nationals, 11 different riders have emerged victorious in the 450 Class, while 12 different riders have won in the 250 Class. The 250 Class will could feature its ninth consecutive new Glen Helen winner in 2015.
• Five of the six manufacturers have won at Glen Helen. Five of six have also won in both the 250 Class and 450 Class. Husqvarna is the only OEM in search of its first win at the facility. 

450 Class Stats

• The first Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship race held at Glen Helen was on August 1, 1993, with Mike LaRocco winning on a Kawasaki. The race was unique in that it featured a one-moto format.
• Ricky Carmichael is the all-time leader in wins at Glen Helen with seven combined victories – three in the 250 Class and four in the 450 Class.
• Ryan Dungey earned his first 450 Class win at Glen Helen last season with a last lap pass on his teammate Ken Roczen.
• Ryan Villopoto earned his first career 450 Class victory in his first career premier class start at Glen Helen in 2009. He was forced to step away from the championship a week later with a knee injury.
• Five international riders have won at Glen Helen, but Grant Langston is the only one to do so in both the 250 Class and 450 Class. Three of those five winners are Frenchmen – Mickael Pichon, Stephane Roncada and Sebastien Tortelli.
• Honda’s last win at Glen Helen came with Tortelli in 1999.
• Four riders have earned their first 450 Class win at Glen Helen.
• Kawasaki is the only manufacturer to sweep both the 450 Class and 250 Class at Glen Helen, doing so three times.

250 Class Stats

• The first Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship 250 Class race held at Glen Helen was on August 1, 1993, with Doug Henry winning on a Honda. The race was unique in that it featured a one-moto format.
• Jeremy Martin earned his first career win at Glen Helen last season, also giving Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha its first win as a team.
• Three riders have won at Glen Helen to capture the very first Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship race they ever entered – Sebastien Tortelli (2009), Grant Langston (2001) and James Stewart (2002).
• Kawasaki won the 250 Class at Glen Helen for seven consecutive years between 2002 and 2008. The brand has won 10 of the 16 races held at Glen Helen in the 250 Class.
• Ryan Dungey became the first rider to win in the 250 Class on a Suzuki during the 2009 race at Glen Helen.
• Honda has not won at Glen Helen since earning the inaugural victory in 1993. KTM has not won since Grant Langston gave the brand its second ever Pro Motocross win in 2001.

Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship
The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, features the world’s fastest outdoor motocross racers, racing aboard the best bikes each factory offers, on the roughest, toughest tracks in the world. The 12-rounds series begins at Hangtown in May and ends at Indiana's Ironman Raceway in August. It includes stops at the premier motocross racing facilities in America, with events in California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Michigan, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington, New York, Indiana and Utah. The pro riders race on Saturday afternoon, with competition divided into two classes: one for 250cc machines, and one for 450cc machines. The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship is managed by MX Sports Pro Racing, the industry leader in off-road power sports event production.
