PADDOCK MITIGATION, HEALTH & SAFETY PLAN
3rd EDITION

Pro Motocross is conducted entirely outdoors. The following health plan was developed accordingly.
- Participant Safety
a. “Participants” are defined as credentialed riders, crew members, rider guests, officials and media.
b.Credentials. Riders are allotted a total of (4) crew and/or guest credentials and can purchase them through their online Rider Profile. Top 10 riders from 2020 may obtain (2) complimentary guest credentials by contacting [email protected]. Team credentials are available through the Team Packages.
c. Stay @ Home Instructions:
• Participants should take their own temperature before leaving home. Persons with a temperature of at least 100.4° have a fever and are instructed to stay home, unless testing negative for COVID19.
• Participants at high risk should stay home.
• Participants who have had contact with someone diagnosed with having COVID-19 in the last 14 days, or themselves have had COVID-19 in the last 30 days are instructed to stay home.
d. International Riders. International riders electing to come to the United States to compete in professional events must comply with all current (April 2, 2021) CDC Guidelines for international travel to the U.S. by vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals, including all mask, social distancing and sanitation recommendations, as follows:
CDC International Travel Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated People: ”All air passengers coming to the United States, Including U.S. citizens and fully vaccinated people, are required to have a negative COVID-19 test result no more than 3 days before travel or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 in the past 3 months before they board a flight to the United States."
After travel: CDC recommendations provide that all travelers “Get tested with a viral test 3-5 days after travel. Self-Monitor for COVID symptoms; isolate and get tested if you develop symptoms; and Follow all state and local recommendations or requirements after travel.”
International Travel Recommendations for Unvaccinated People: “All air passengers coming to the United States, including US citizens and fully vaccinated people are required to have a negative COVID-19 viral test result no more than 3 days before travel or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 in the past 3 months before they board a flight to the United States."
After you travel: “Get tested with a viral test 3-5 days after travel and stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after travel. Even if you test negative, stay home and self-quarantine for the full 7 days. If your test is positive isolate yourself to protect others from getting infected. If you don’t get tested, stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel. Avoid being around people who are at increased risk for severe illness for 14 days, whether you get tested or not. Self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms; isolate and get tested if you develop symptoms. Follow all state and local recommendations or requirements." - Paddock
a. Paddock. Commencing with RedBud, the Paddock will be open to VIP ticket holders from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm only (until further notice). Guards will be stationed at team rigs for this purpose.
b. Social Distancing. Participants must maintain a 6-foot physical distance from others whenever possible and wear a facemask when they cannot, unless vaccinated.
c. Mandatory Mask Zone (“MMZ”). The following areas are designated Mandatory Mask Zones: Staging Area, Starting Gate, and Signal Area. Participants in these areas are required to wear a facemask, unless vaccinated.
d. Setback Line. A setback line will be painted 6-feet away from each team work pod. All persons must remain behind this setback line unless granted permission to approach by team personnel.
e. Work Pods. Each factory team and privateer rider will be assigned a paddock footprint or “work pod”. Unless going to/from the racetrack or race function area (Technical Inspection, Signal Area, Podium, etc.), participants are encouraged to remain within their designated work pod, and members of one team may not enter the work pod of another team. Team Managers will establish the facemask requirements for members of their own work pod.
f. Essential Team Personnel. Only essential team personnel are permitted in a team’s work pod, i.e., riders, crew members and immediate family members, as approved by the Team Manager. Teams are responsible to restrict access to their own work pod and should report any violation to MXS officials immediately.
g. Industry Support Personnel. Industry support personnel, i.e., goggle, helmet, gear and tire representatives, are not deemed essential team personnel, and are prohibited from entering a team/rider work pod unless authorized by the Team Manager. Teams/riders may set up a “Drop Off” table adjacent to their work pod for the delivery/pick-up of gear by industry support personnel. Industry Support Personnel will be granted credentials on a case-by-case basis.
h. Personal Doctors/Trainers. Private doctors, including chiropractors and physical therapists, and trainers that service multiple riders on different teams, will be required to provide their services from their own work pod. Doctors/Trainers with multiple patients will be prohibited from moving from work pod to work pod to provide services and will be required to exercise proper personal hygiene and sanitation protocols between patients/clients.
i.Agents. Under the circumstances, rider agents are not deemed essential team personnel and are prohibited from entering a work pod, unless authorized by the Team Manager.
j. Fan Zones. Participants are discouraged from leaving or re-entering the Paddock after accessing general public areas. Participants entering general public areas will be required to wear a facemask while accessing these areas. A temperature check will be required before re-entering the Paddock.
k. Hand Washing/Sanitizer. Paddock members should wash their hands on a regular basis with soap and water, and when they cannot, use hand sanitizer, and avoid touching their face (eyes, nose or mouth).
l. Autograph Sessions are suspended. Teams are encouraged to provide pre-signed autograph stock to MX Sports to hand out to fans. - Riders Meeting
a. Riders Meetings will be pre-recorded and available for online viewing after 6 pm Friday evening. Riders and crew members will be emailed a link to access the Riders Meeting video and are responsible for viewing the video.
b. Updates will be issued via text Saturday morning @ 7:30 am and as necessary throughout the day.
c. Chapel Service will be conducted @ 7:30 am @ the MX Sports Pro Semi. - Technical Control/Impound:
a. Technical inspection will be conducted outside at the MXS Race Office from 2 – 4 pm.
b. Inspection Package. Mechanics will receive an Inspection Packet containing the following:
• Frame sticker
• Practice sticker
• Transponder with mounting instructions
• Weekend Schedule
• Any other information deemed necessary by MXS
• Motorcycles and riding gear will not be inspected
c. Inspection Report. Mechanics must sign the Inspection Report acknowledging receipt of the Inspection Packet and agreeing to comply with all technical requirements.
d. Sound Check. Random sound checks will be conducted on Friday. Machines selected for sound check must be presented immediately to Technical Control for testing.
e. Post-Race Impound will be conducted in this area. Motorcycles will be presented one at a time and positioned 6-feet apart. Mechanics may remain in the vicinity to monitor the motorcycles so long as social distancing is maintained. Upon completion of impound, motorcycles will be released one at a time.
f. Riders/Mechanics will be responsible to remove and return the transponder to the MXS Race Office at the end of the day. A receptacle bucket will be positioned outside the office for transponder returns. - Staging Area: MMZ (unless vaccinated)
a. Staging Area is limited to 1 rider – 1 mechanic only. No other team member or industry support personnel permitted in this area.
b. Motorcycles will be positioned 6-feet apart.
c. Only one group will be staged at a time.
d. Media may have access to this area. - Start Gate: MMZ (unless vaccinated)
a. The area behind the Start Gate is limited to 1 rider – 1 mechanic only. No other team member or industry support personnel permitted in this area.
b. Media may have access to this area. - Mechanics Area: MMZ (unless vaccinated)
a. Mechanics Area is limited to 1 mechanic per rider. No other team member or industry support personnel permitted in this area.
b. Authorized race teams may have 1 cart and 1 driver in this area. The cart driver must remain with the cart unless providing mechanical assistance.
c. Mechanics may assist other riders in this area.
d. TV staff may have access to this area for broadcast purposes.
e. No other media permitted. - Team Manager Viewing:
a. Only credentialed Team Managers may access the TM Viewing area. - Podium Park Ferme’
a. Commencing with High Point, the podium will be returned to the Fan Zone.
b. The area behind the podium is the Podium Parc Ferme’. The parc ferme’ will consist of (3) 10x10 Rider Stations equipped with (2) chairs each.
c. Top 3 rider team members only will be permitted in this area.
d. The rider will hand off his motorcycle to the mechanic and the mechanic will immediately take the machine back to their team paddock area after the first Moto and immediately to Impound following the second Moto. Motorcycles will not be displayed on the podium.
e. Only race officials and the above listed team members may enter the parc ferme’. No other persons are authorized.
f. Media members are prohibited from entering the parc ferme’. An area in the front of the podium will be established for media.
g. Team representatives must be prepared to provide drinking water for their own riders. Water and cool rags for immersion will be available for riders.
h. Riders will remain in their Rider Station until called to the podium for interview.
i. Riders will be interviewed one at a time.
j. Series points leaders will autograph the red #1 plate.
k. After the top 3 individual rider interviews, all three riders will return to the podium to stand on marked positions 6-feet apart. Riders will then pick up a sanitized trophy for a photo opportunity.
l. The Top 3 overall will remain on the podium for a champagne spray celebration.
m. Microphones will be sanitized after each use. - Media
a. Media are prohibited from entering team work pods unless authorized by the Team Manager.
b. Media Days are suspended until further notice. With the exception of Round 1, Pala 1, there will be no organized on-track pro activity race week. Select riders may be asked to participate in virtual or digital media interviews with local media. These interviews will be arranged in advance with rider representatives.
c. Post-Race Press Conferences will be conducted via Zoom or online virtual meeting at 8 pm the evening of the race (same time zone as race venue). The Top 3 riders per class, as well as any other riders requested by the Media Manager, must be available to participate in the virtual press conference.
d. Media will be invited to participate in the Zoom Press Conference as arranged with the Series Media Manager. - Mobile Medic Unit (MMU)
a. Maximum capacity for the MMU is 10.
b. Access to the MMU is restricted. Persons seeking medical care will initially be assessed outside the unit in a pre-admission area before being authorized to enter the MMU.
c. Only patients and medical providers will be permitted in the MMU. Family and crew members must remain outside.
d. All persons in the MMU must wear facemasks or as instructed by medical providers.
e.Medical team members will change gloves, wash hands and sanitize area after each patient, and will otherwise exercise proper personal hygiene and sanitation protocols. - Signage
